A comparison of the number of allopathic clinics and traditional medicine clinics in Karnataka

 In Karnataka, a southern state in India, healthcare services are available across various systems, including modern scientific approach's such as allopathy and traditional systems such as Ayurveda, homeopathy, and Unani. It is generally believed that allopathy is the most common form of healthcare in Karnataka, traditional systems of medicine such as Ayurveda, homeopathy, and Unani are also widely used. In this article, we'll compare the number of allopathic clinics and traditional medicine clinics in Karnataka and explore the reasons for any disparities.

With over 55,000 beds available in the public healthcare system Karnataka has over 13000 registered healthcare establishments (source: Karnataka Private Medical Establishments List, May 2023). As the list looks at bot traditional and modern systems of medicine I worked on this data set to determine the proportions and distribution across different systems. The results are as follows:
